How Tiptiptap arrived in Kenya

LocationKenya
Year2020

Anyone who has visited Kenya knows that this country in eastern Africa has hot deserts as well as beautiful mountains, gorgeous beaches and diverse national parks. Not to mention the colourful tribal culture. For us, it is a small but important fact that for some time now there has been a Tiptiptap playground in Kenya, more precisely in the capital Nairobi. How did we get there?

People who say that when you put your heart into the job, you will get noticed, are right. This is exactly the case, because Nairobi Java House, the largest café-restaurant chain in East and Central Africa, chose us from all possible manufacturers in the world. When their representative approached us a year ago, they wanted to order products for very young children for a restaurant in Nairobi.

Our recommended products were immediately suitable for them since we were able to take the climate into account. For example, we replaced the metal bottom of the slide with a plastic bottom to prevent overheating. The bright colours of our products are also very popular with the customers there.

While the selection and manufacture of products went quickly and smoothly, the paperwork (preparation of export documents and the inspection process) took longer. However, everything went smoothly and the products were shipped to Kenya by DHL.

Founded in 1999, Nairobi Java House was originally designed to bring a culture of quality coffee to Kenya. Today, in addition to Kenya, they also have restaurant-cafes in 14 cities in Uganda and Rwanda. The company also has two other brands, Planet Yogurt and 360 Degrees Pizza. As a result of excellent cooperation, these high-quality cafes-restaurants now have the best playgrounds.
